Aloha all,

Pending applications and amendments

I got word last night that HECO is going to issue a clarification today via Isaac Warsh regarding pending applications and subsequent amendments.  I was told it should be out by later today--please keep a look out for it.

Clarification on Grandfathered date for NEM apps and definition of "complete" application

The Commission has issued a decision on the letter we submitted last week where we asked for clarification on the grandfathering date and the definition of a "complete" application on the NEM D & O.

You can read it for yourself here:  Docket No. 2014-0192 order No. 33312

The following document has been filed with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission for Docket: 2014-0192. Click here to view this document or go to the DMS web site at http://dms.puc.hawaii.gov/dms/

Here's the summary:

1.  the term "submitted" as it relates to the HECO Companies customer's NEM application, is the date of either hand delivery, or postmark provided by the USPS or other third-party mail carrier.

2.  a NEM application is considered "complete" when the essential dcoments and information supporting the application are timely submitted, and an application should not be rejected for minor errors or omission that require correction while the application is being reviewed. (emphasis added)

3.  the effective date to get NEM applications submitted in order to be grandfathered is Oct. 13, 2015.  Therefore, applications must be postmarked on or before Oct. 13, 2015.
